BCNO Group collaborates with Unifrog on online Osteopathy course

The BCNO Group has once again collaborated with Unifrog, the well-known careers platform, to produce an online course about Osteopathy, aimed at secondary school students.

Unifrog is an organisation that helps students compare all university courses, apprenticeships, and further education courses available in the UK, and helps them apply successfully.

As part of the online Osteopathy course developed by the BCNO Group, students have the opportunity to explore the world of Osteopathy, by learning how to take case histories, finding out what palpitation is and becoming familiar with what an Osteopath does during an osteopathic consultation.

Students are guided through a detailed online course comprising of a number of components where they are required to complete questions to test their knowledge. For example, the module on what an Osteopath does during a consultation asks students to provide examples of what patients can do outside of their appointments to help improve joints and mobility.

This two-hour online course follows the success of the videos produced by Unifrog in partnership with the BCNO Group last year, where current students and a recent graduate were filmed to talk about studying Osteopathy and a career as an Osteopath. Since interest in the videos have been high, Unifrog approached the BCNO Group to develop an online course where students could delve in deeper to learn about the practice of Osteopathy.

Commenting, Rob Thomas, BCNO Group Ambassador, who wrote the online course with Sarah-Jane Marshall, Head of ESO Clinic, said, “14 students have already completed the online Osteopathy course within five weeks of the course launching. This shows that there is a real appetite amongst secondary school students to learn more about Osteopathy. We hope that this initiative will inspire students to seriously consider a career as an Osteopath and studying Osteopathy.”
