Year 4 research dissertation on lower back pain

BCOM student James Monty recently completed two days of data collection for his Year 4 research dissertation investigating the agreement of outcomes from two ultrasound devices in assessing the thoracolumbar fascia of healthy and individuals with lower back pain (LBP).

Across the two days James scanned 47 individuals that will help inform utility of portable ultrasound devices in LBP populations.

This project is a collaborative effort between BCNO Group and University of Kent School of Sport and Exercise Sciences. James will now be analysing the data and writing his dissertation – with the aim of publishing the findings in a peer-review journal once complete.
